Located in Brgy. Balabag, some 15-20 minutes away from the city proper, Paniki Falls Eco-River Park is the place for those seeking for a getaway to escape the daily grind, adventure and nature lovers.
Officially launched by LGU-Kidapawan as one of their tourism sites last November 2017, Paniki Falls Eco-River Park's main attraction is the 80-feet high Paniki Falls also known as Mawig Falls situated at the foot of Mt. Apo with an estimated elevation of 1140 meters above sea level.
An enjoyable 30-45 minutes trek from the jump-off area at a Manobo village in Sitio Mook is required before reaching the waterfall. But tourists will surely enjoy the trek as the trail is well-established passing greenish surroundings, clear rivers and river pools with cold and refreshing waters, bulk trees, and exotic flora and fauna.
There are also nine(9) hanging bridges and wooden walkways along the trail for crossing Paniki River. These are named after some distinct Manobo traits including Mosandog (Matino); Motoggas (Matigas ); Movuut (Matapang); Molihonnoy ( Maganda); Moko Ima-ima (Kaakit-akit); Moko Ayyam Ayyam (Kaibig-ibig); Monokka (Malakas); Movaasa (Maginoo); and Movigkas (Makisig). These are perfect place to take Instagram-worthy photos.
