Every month of July the Municipality of Kalamansig celebrates the Salagaan Festival.
A grandiose celebration of their bountiful harvest, the month-long festivity is marked by culturally enriching, meaningful and exciting events showcasing the town's history and culture, products, hospitality and thanksgiving, and expressing solidarity in facing the future.
One of the main highlights of Salagaan Festival in Kalamansig is the Ingkil-Ingkil or the street dancing competition. And we are glad to have witnessed and experienced it this year.
The event aims to depict the culture, values and traditions of Kalamansig as well as strengthen its identity as "Bayang Pinagpala".
Performers in their colorful costumes showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the people of Kalamansig paraded the streets while gracefully dancing to the beat of traditional musical instruments. The performances also highlighted the abundance of harvest and the reign of peace in Kalamansig amidst cultural differences.
