Considered as one of the best places to go bird watching in the Philippines, Baras Bird Sanctuary, a 2.5 hectares of land located at Barangay Baras is home to more than 20,000 birds of various species.This includes the Rufous Night Heron, Black Crowned Night Heron, Glossy Ibis, Eurasian Tree Sparrow, Pied Fantail, Grey streaked Flycatcher, Dimorphic Dwarf Kingfisher, Rusty Breasted Cuckoo, among others.

HOW TO GO TO BARAS BIRD SANCTUARY
Tacurong City is 4 hours away from Davao City and 2 hours from General Santos City.
Baras Bird Sanctuary is situated in Brgy. Baras, about 7 kilometers away from the city proper.
The place is accessible to all kinds of land vehicles.
Best time to visit the sanctuary is from 4PM - 5:30PM.
