Here's another event happening in SOX this summer that you should not miss - the 3rd Tacurong Bird Festival scheduled on May 12-13, 2017!
To be held at Baras Bird Sanctuary in City of Tacurong, which is home to more than 20,000 birds like herons and egrets, the two-day event is aimed at promoting awareness among locals and tourists about the importance of birds in the environment and encourage individuals to help in the conservation of their natural habitats.
Among the activities of this year's Tacurong Bird Festival are conservation and awareness forum, guided bird tours at Baras Bird Sanctuary, art activities and many more.

Tacurong City is 4 hours away from Davao City and 2 hours from General Santos City.
Baras Bird Sanctuary is situated in Brgy. Baras, about 7 kilometers away from the city proper.
The place is accessible to all kinds of land vehicles.
Best time to visit the sanctuary is from 4PM - 5:30PM.
