Hundreds of tourists flocked to the Baras Bird Sanctuary in Tacurong City, home of more than 20,000 endemic and migratory birds on May 28-29, 2016 for the 2nd Tacurong Bird Festival.
During the 2-day event tourists were able to enjoy activities including bird watching with tour guide around the Baras Bird Sanctuary, one of the region's most-visited tourist destinations, key holder making/painting, face painting, origami making, bottle recycling, ball cap making and coloring activities.
A forum on wildlife protection and conservation was also held. It was attended by tourism officers and other invited guests including CENRO, MENRO and PENRO from all over SOCCSKSARGEN.
There is also a bird costume contest and photography competition.
