Coron, Palawan – as a bird and landscape photographer and adventurer, Coron, Palawan is a complete package for me.
What do you think about president-elect Rodrigo Duterte?
Duterte for me is a man of action and with great Leadership. “Change is really coming”.

I love exploring all genre of Photography but I really hook into Bird, Landscape and Festival Photography.

I never had a chance to involve myself into to any photography courses or any workshop. Youtube, Photography Books and some Photographer Mentors (Sir Jovic Ferrer (Bird), Sir Ric Samanion (Landscape) taught me some basics and important techniques.

I started in photography in 2012.
What or who got you started in photography?
Sir Jovic Ferrer , it started when he made me involved into his fashion about bird photography. He made me first as his spotter and guide. Then one of our sortie, out of curiosity I tried his camera to take some pictures of our feather friend. Then I started to love the excitement and challenges when taking picture of birds.
How would you describe your style (photography)?
I don’t really have style followed in taking pictures; it depends on the subject, place, time and scenario.
The place you love the most in SOX and Why?
Lake Sebu (Sitio Kanko) and T’boli (Lake Holon) Why? Simply, because of this two reasons, BIRDS and Scenic views.

If you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why?
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens – it’s an all-around lens for me for landscape and festival photography.

Flash and flashlight
Can you describe how and when you use flash, video light, reflectors and natural light during a shoot?
I used flash if my camera ISO can’t handle anymore the light needed in the scene.
How important is Photoshop in your final images?
For me PS is Very important especially for basic photo adjustment like brightness, contrast, sharpness, for cropping and placement. I used also Adobe Photoshop for advance photo manipulation.
How do you feel about cropping an image?
Image cropping tool is a very important option for a photographer especially when you are dealing with photo composition.
I was inspired by the works of my mentors and great images posted online. And I really love to showcase through my photography how beautiful the culture, place, avian treasures and people of SOX Regions.
When National Geographic showcase my photo of Magnificent Sunbird in their web site. It’s a dream come true for me.
Where would be your dream destination to shoot?
Landscape (New Zealand and China)

What is your favorite image you have shot recently? Can you describe its creation in regards to location, lighting, composition etc., also your thoughts when creating the image and what it means to you?
The photo of Mother Philippine Eagle and her 2 months Eaglet on the nest. We travelled 8 hours to Cinchona, Bukidnon just too captured photos of very rare Philippine Eagle in the wild. It is one of the most memorable 10 seconds of my life. After waiting for almost 2 hours when from nowhere the Mother eagle glide and perched into the nest to visit her eaglet in flew away immediately after 10 seconds. Lucky I was able to made 1 frame despite of the trembling of my hands because of too much excitement.
What do you think of the photography industry at the moment and where do you see it in 5 years from now?
Base on latest trend of cameras and its price and I think camera nowadays considered by many as basic gadget, 5 years from now photography (mobile or DSLD) industry is everybody’s hobby.
